Lake Rayburn firefighters dealt with a blaze that destroyed a pickup truck on Saturday evening. It happened at about 7:00 in front of Solley’s Liquor Store on Highway 96 North. Reportedly the fire started in the engine and the driver tried to use a fire extinguisher, but it didn’t help. When firefighters arrived the engine compartment and cab were fully engulfed. They quickly went to work using water and foam to douse the flames. There was no report of any injuries.
