Officers in Hardin County believe a fight over a woman resulted in a shooting that took place in Kountze on Saturday night leaving one man in the hospital and another in jail. Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis told KFDM that Cody Michael Puckitt, 34, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault following an investigation of the incident. Davis, said deputies responded to Barrows Lane around 10:30 after a shooting was reported. Davis said the victim, a 34-year-old man, was found nearby with a superficial gunshot wound to the upper chest area and transported by ambulance to a hospital where he is was at last word still undergoing treatment. However, Puckitt's problems with the law are not limited to Hardin County. Davis said he also has an outstanding warrant from the Tyler County Courthouse in Woodville for revocation of probation.
