No injuries in crash near Kirbyville involving a U.S. Mail truck

Fortunately there were no injuries in a late Tuesday morning crash near Kirbyville. It happened at about 11:00on Highway 96 at County Road 457. DPS Sergeant Shana Clark said a 2021 Kia Soul, driven by a 16-year-old Newton resident, was traveling northbound on Highway 96 while a Grumman U.S. Mail truck, driven by Kahlona Perkins, 29, of Port Arthur, was traveling westbound on County Road 457. Sergeant Clark said Perkins ran the stop sign and pulled out in front of the teenager and the two vehicles collided. According to Sergeant Clark, Perkins received a citation for Failure to Yield Right-of-Way.
