NATCHITOCHES, La. — The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested 55-year-old Lonnie Shields following a shooting on South Drive this morning.
Officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 1800 block of South Drive at 10:39 a.m. At the scene they found a victim who had been shot in the foot during an argument with Shields.
Witnesses identified Shields, who had fled the scene on a tricycle.
Investigators from the Natchitoches Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Violent Crime Task Force located Shields at a home on Brewton Street and arrested him without incident.
Shields was charged with aggravated battery. Due to the Natchitoches Detention Center being at capacity, he is being held at the Natchitoches Police Department.
