RUSK COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A woman who was missing in Rusk County has been located on Friday night. At 12:30 a.m., Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez told KLTV that mounted patrol officers had found the woman, identified as Rachel Newton of Henderson, in a wooded area. She is safe and is being checked out by medical staff on scene, he said. Newton had last been seen in the area north of Laneville on 225, east on CR 377 and CR 381D according to Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez. Valdez said that she and her partner were riding a 4-wheeler on someone’s land after passing through an open gate, and eventually had an argument. She got off the 4wheeler and started walking away. He went back to the road, got a ride to town and called the sheriff for help locating her. Her cell phone and drivers license were found. Six patrol units, four volunteer fire department units, and criminal investigation department staff all assisted in the search.
