Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard and his deputies were busy early Tuesday evening searching for a special needs teen and shortly before 8:00, Havard reported that the girl had been found and that she was safe and sound.
Havard says the girl is 17 and autistic, and she went missing from her home on Farm to Market Road 252 about a mile north of the Kirbyville city limits and was believed to be in a wooded area.
To aid in the search, Sheriff Havard called on other agencies to assist and also utilized a radio controlled drone to search the area where the girl was last seen.
Sheriff Havard thanked everyone for their assistance in the search.
