There was only minor damage and no injuries after a Buna ISD school bus hit a dump truck owned by Jasper County. It happened shortly before 7:00 Wednesday morning on County Road 791 at County Road 786.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, the school bus, driven by 63-year-old Michael Williams, of Buna, and there were three students onboard. She said the bus was traveling eastbound and the dump truck was parked on the roadway.
Clark said maintenance workers directed the bus to go around the dump truck, but when the bus driver tried to turn onto County Road 786, the rear of the bus swung wide and hit the front of the dump truck.
The rear bumper of the school bus was bent and the front of the dump truck had minor damage.
