The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department says a man was arrested after a deputy responded to a burglary call on Audrey Street in Brookeland. According to deputies, the man repeatedly threatened to kill them.
According to the report, as a deputy was checking the interior of the house, the suspect took off running into a wooded area, so the deputy chased him down.
The report said at that point, the suspect, 39-year-old Justin Elton Key, of Brookeland, charged toward the deputy and began screaming that he was going to shoot him in the head.
After getting the man into custody, the report say the man began making numerous death threats to another deputy.
He was booked into the Jasper County Jail under a felony charge of Terroristic Threats against a Peace Officer.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the burglary of the house continues.
