A Lufkin man has been arrested after the Angelina County Sheriff’s Department says he let a 10-year-old girl drive a pickup truck which hit and killed his 6-year-old step-son. It happened at about 1:00 Sunday morning on Oakwood Drive, just southeast of Lufkin.

KTRE 9 News in Lufkin is reporting that Clinton Earl Johnson, Jr., 31, is charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide.

KTRE obtained the arrest affidavit which stated that Johnson let the girl move the truck and she crashed into the porch of the house where the boy was standing. The boy was rushed by ambulance to a Lufkin hospital where he died.

The affidavit also stated that both the man and the mother of the child had been drinking.
