A resident of Tyler County was killed in an early Wednesday morning crash in Hardin County. It happened on Farm to Market Road 1122 about 4 miles west of Silsbee.
Texas Department of Public Safety Captain Kevin Hussey said 19-year-old Zachary Morris, of Warren, was driving westbound when he went off the highway in a curve. He crashed head-on into a power pole and then hit a tree.
Hussey said Morris was ejected and he was was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the truck caught on fire and power was knocked out to about 1,000 homes.
