NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE)- Lufkin police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured Friday night.
In a news release, the department said two people sustained non-life-threatening gunshot injuries while reportedly trying to sell a cell phone at a local park.
Officers were called to St. Luke’s Health-Memorial around 11 p.m. Friday night. The victims told officers they met two people at the park to sell a cell phone when one of the people showed a gun.
One person was wounded in the hand and the other person was wounded in his stomach, according to police. The department said the two people have been moved to out-of-town hospitals for further treatment.
Lufkin Police’s investigation continues, and they do not believe the public is in any danger.
