Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff's Department said a woman who had been charged with Abandoning and Endangering a Child and a warrant issued for her arrest was taken into custody Saturday.
Officers said the arrest came after the suspect named in the warrant, Virginia DuPont, 60 of Jasper was spotted by Sergeant Chris Wade, who was on routine patrol, saw her traveling in a vehicle on County Road 247 in the north end of the county
DuPont was transported to the Jasper County Jail where she was at last word being held.
