MARSHALL, Texas (KLTV) - A Marshall man is in jail after police say he assaulted a woman with his car early Saturday.
The Marshall Police Department says the incident happened around 3 a.m. near the intersection of University Avenue and Wiley Avenue. Officers arrived to find a Dodge Charger on the curb with a woman partially underneath it.
Brandon Carey, 34, was reportedly found to be the driver, and witnesses say he had been in an altercation with the woman earlier in the night and was later seen hitting her with the car.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The release says her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Carey was charged with aggravated assault. He was given an additional charge of abandoning and endangering a child, which the release says is due to him leaving three children home alone during the incident. He remains booked in the Harrison County Jail at the time of reporting.
