A 65 year old Leesville man died on Saturday after being hit by a train while walking along the railroad tracks on the overpass crossing 6th Street on the north side of town.
Police fire and other emergency crews were dispatched to the location shortly before 3:00 pm when it was reported that the incident had occurred.
Despite the efforts of firemen and emergency medical personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. However, the name of the deceased or other details have not been released, pending full investigation and notification of next of kin.
