Firefighters from multiple departments were busy on Sunday afternoon dealing with a large fire at J3 Metal Recycling, located on Farm to Market Road 105, about 8 miles south of Evadale. The volunteers of the Evadale Fire Department were sent to that location during the noon hour and arrived to find heavy black smoke and flames. They soon called for assistance from Vidor, Buna, and Kirbyville, along with the Texas A&M Forest Service. The cause of the blaze is unknown.
