A Kirbyville woman was arrested on Friday after allegedly threatening a man with a handgun and impersonating a police officer during a confrontation on a public roadway.
A Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of criminal trespass at a home on County Road 536 at around 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, the deputy found Alishia Robin Blevins, 58, with a man sitting on the public roadway in front of his vehicle.
Blevins claimed the man was an illegal immigrant trespassing on her property.
The initial investigation revealed that the man had not entered or remained on Blevins' property. Despite this, Blevins allegedly approached the man with a handgun, demanding his proof of insurance, name, cellphone, and keys.
She reportedly made him exit his vehicle and sit on the roadway until law enforcement arrived.
The victim and a witness, who later provided a sworn voluntary statement, said Blevins claimed to be a police officer. She allegedly called the victim’s wife from his cellphone, stating her husband was going to jail.
Blevins placed a large German Shepherd dog, which she claimed was a Harris County K-9, in the victim’s vehicle to prevent him from fleeing, instructing him that the dog would attack if he attempted to leave.
Blevins was arrested for terroristic threat causing fear of serious bodily injury and was transported to the Jasper County Jail. Charges of impersonating a peace officer may follow. Immigration authorities have been contacted to investigate the victim's immigration status.
