Offices with the Jasper County Sheriff's Department reported Sunday that a man from Vidor had been arrested following altercation with a woman in the parking lot of the ball park in Buna on Saturday.
Ironically, officers say the arrest of 21-year-old Kenneth Phelps came after the suspect contacted deputies and wanted to report what had happened.
Deputies say the series of events began shortly after 5:00, when Phelps and the mother of his child got into an argument, which resulted in Phelps allegedly attacking the woman and taking her cell phone.
Phelps was taken to the Jasper County Jail where he was charged with Robbery.
