A female inmate in the Jefferson County Jail has died, and another female inmate has been charged in relation to her death. The deceased inmate has been identified as 25-year-old Shelbi Ervin, who died on Saturday. Meanwhile, investigators have charged 44-year-old Michelle Lee Cormier with Criminally Negligent Homicide. They allege that she was hiding heroin inside her body when she was booked into the jail on a drug charge on October 30th.
