A Jasper man escaped serious injury on Monday morning when he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding just west of Jasper.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 63 West at Farm to Market Road 3414 shortly after 9:00 when it was reported that the accident had occurred.
A state trooper said 38-year-old Shaun Green was westbound on a 2005 Honda motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he came around a curve and lost control. He was thrown off of the bike and onto the shoulder of the highway.
Green was treated at the scene for scrapes and cuts to his hand and arms and was taken by a friend to a hospital in Lufkin.
