A Jasper man is reported to be undergoing treatment following an accident involving a gun. Jasper Police say the incident apparently occurred around 5:00 on Sunday morning at a home on Suncrest Circle, just off Bevil Loop Road on the southeast side of town. Officers say it is believe that the man was cleaning a gun when he accidentally shot himself in the face. Sources say the victim, whose name has not been released, was taken by a private vehicle to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was treated before being transferred to a medical facility in Houston for additional treatment.
