A man is undergoing treatment and police are looking for a shooter in an incident that occurred on Thursday night in Newton. Newton Police Chief Will Jackson said officers were called to a home in the 700 block of Kerr Street, on the north side of town around midnight when it was reported that a shooting had occurred and arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Chief Jackson said the victim was transported by helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he was at last word still undergoing treatment. The name of the victim has not been released at this time as the investigation into the incident continues.
