Injury accident between Kirbyville and Bleakwood

Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

Emergency crews were busy on Friday evening dealing with an injury accident between Kirbyville and Bleakwood. It occurred at about 7:45 on Farm to Market Road 363 at County Road 3064, just inside the Newton County line. Both the Trout Creek and Kirbyville Fire Departments and First Responders were sent to the scene, as well as a medical helicopter. Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark later said that a Mazda RX-7 was traveling eastbound on FM 363 and was followed by a Nissan Altima. Clark said the driver of the Mazda was going to turn onto County Road 3064 and had stopped to wait for westbound traffic. However, the driver of the Nissan crashed into the rear of the Mazda, which sent the Mazda into the westbound lane where it was hit head-on by a Chevrolet Suburban.
