SHREVEPORT, La. -- The state highway department announced the reopening of Interstate 49 through urban Shreveport just before 1 p.m. Thursday. The opening is effective immediately. This includes the northbound lanes of I-49 between state Highway 526 and Interstate 20, as well as the southbound lanes from I-20 to state Highway 3132. I-49 north from I-220 to the Mira Myrtis interchange remains closed. Further updates will be issued as conditions change.
