ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A 13-year-old has been arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle. According to the Alexandria Police Department, officers responded to the 3200 block of MacArthur Drive on January 17 around 3:30 p.m. in reference to a theft of a red 1997 Ford Mustang. An hour later, APD said an officer saw the vehicle in the Lincoln Road and Hudson Boulevard area. After a short vehicle pursuit and a pursuit on foot, a 13-year-old was taken into custody and charged with one theft of a motor vehicle and one count of resisting an officer. APD learned through an investigation that the juvenile was an escapee from a group home in Baton Rouge. This is currently an ongoing investigation.
