A homeless man was seriously injured over the weekend when he was ran over by a cow. It happened Saturday at the Kirbyville Auction Barn on Highway 96. Kirbyville Auction Barn owner Jeff Muckleroy said it occurred during the weekly livestock auction. Muckleroy said the man, who is only known as "Joe-Joe", was transported by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital with head injuries, and then flown to a Houston hospital. Meanwhile, Muckleroy says people in that area are asked to keep an eye out for an approximately 200 pound pig running loose. Muckleroy explained that Joe-Joe got the pig from the Auction Barn when it was just a piglet and he has raised it. In fact, according to Muckleroy, "it follows him around like a puppy dog". However, the pig ran away during the ordeal. If you see the pig, you're asked to call Jeff Muckleroy at 409-423-0197.
