Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard found and arrested a wanted fugitive on Friday evening near Buna. According to Havard, he received information that 45-year-old Steven Dwitt Marks was in Cougar Country so he went to that area and began looking. Havard said he soon spotted Marks driving a vehicle on County Road 655 so he stopped him and placed him into custody. Marks was named in a felony warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance and he also had several warrants for misdemeanor crimes. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail and booked in. Havard was dressed in a suit and tie and was on the way to a function when he received word about the wanted felon and diverted to find the man.
