Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Friday issued a Wildfire Disaster Declaration for 191 of the 254 counties in the state. The measure includes all of east Texas. Meanwhile, burn bans remain active across this entire region, and beleaguered firefighters are responding daily to wildfires, many of which are being caused by people violating the burn bans. Stifling heat and drought continues to grip most of the state.
