JASPER, Texas (July 30, 2026) — Volunteers with the Jasper Fire Department responded to the Murphy USA fuel station at the Walmart store on U.S. Highway 190 West shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday following reports of a fuel spill.
Firefighters arrived to find that a significant amount of gasoline had been accidentally spilled by a customer while fueling a vehicle.
Crews applied absorbent materials to contain and clean up the spill while taking precautions to eliminate potential ignition sources and prevent a fire.
The spill was quickly brought under control, and normal operations resumed without injuries or further incident.
