Four end up going to the hospital following Sunday evening auto accident

Four people are undergoing treatment following an auto accident that occurred shortly before 10:00 on Sunday evening at the intersection of West Gibson and South Bowie Street here in Jasper.

Police and firemen arrived at the scene of the two-vehicle auto accident to find an early model Hyudai Elantra sedan blocking the entrance to Bowie Street and a Kia Sportage SUV sitting in a parking lot on the north side of Gibson.

The female driver of the Kia and two young children, along with the male driver of the Hyundai were all transported by Allegiance EMS to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Jasper Firemen helped to rescue the driver of the Hyundai and also stood by in case of fire as well as directed traffic around the accident.

Police have not released the names of those involved or indicated what might have caused the accident pending investigation of the accident and the release of a final report.
