State Police in Arkansas say a Jasper County Man is dead and his stepson is undergoing hospital treatment following a tragic two vehicle auto accident that occurred on Friday between Pine Bluff and Risen in Jefferson County Arkansas.
Officers said the head on crash occurred shortly after 3:00 pm, when a 1966 Chevrolet which was traveling south on US Highway 79 near Bone Spur Road for some unknown reason, left the road going into a side ditch before re-entering the roadway and hitting a northbound 2008 Chevrolet.
Two People from East Texas, who were traveling in the 1966 Chevrolet, Richard Reeves, 69, of Kirbyville and his stepson Kyle Walker, 47 of Jasper were critically injured and Reeves was pronounced at the scene. Walker was taken to a hospital in Pine Bluff, where he was at last word, still undergoing treatment after undergoing at least three surgeries.
Word is that Walker and Reeves, who were avid classic car and hot rod enthusiasts were traveling to a car show in Pine Bluff, Arkansas when the crash occurred.
Kyle Walker is the son of Terry Walker of Jasper and the stepson of Texas State District 1-1 Judge Delinda Gibbs Walker.
State Trooper Hunter Mealer said the accident occurred on a dry, clear day.
