QUITMAN, Texas (KLTV) — Criminal charges have been filed against the current and former superintendents of Winnsboro ISD.
Jail staff confirmed that Brian David Wilcox, 50, of Texarkana, and Aaron David Nation, 39, were booked into the Wood County Jail.
Nation bonded out Monday evening; he had been held on $40,000 bond. Wilcox was held on a bond of $30,000 and bonded out on Tuesday.
Winnsboro ISD confirmed Ashley Wilcox, who was employed with the district until the summer of 2025, has also been arrested.
According to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, Wilcox was held on a bond of $2,500 and bonded out on Monday.
Sheriff’s office staff said Wilcox is charged with two counts of failure to report child abuse with intent to conceal. He is being held on a collective bond of $30,000. Nation is charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and failure to report child abuse with intent to conceal.
Wilcox resigned as superintendent in September. Nation was named interim superintendent after that and got the full-time job on Jan. 5.
The district released the following statement:
“The district takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our students, staff, and community. WISD has been and is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities in their investigation.
Counsel to these individuals has indicated that all will enter pleas of not guilty to the charges."
