SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) - A suspect is accused of leading Sulphur police on a high-speed chase on I-10E before crashing in Lake Charles.
The pursuit started in Sulphur with a traffic violation, Maj. Jason Gully of the Sulphur Police Department said. The chase ended around 5:30 p.m. when the suspect crashed near U.S. 171.
Minor injuries were reported, Gully said.
The crash shut down the interstate for about an hour while crews worked to clear the wreck. According to DOTD, the wreck has since been cleared, and all lanes are open.
