Firefighters from Newton and Roganville were busy Monday afternoon dealing with a fire that destroyed two storage buildings and spread into a wooded area. It happened at a residence on Farm to Market Road 2939, just southwest of Newton.
Newton Fire Department Captain Melanie Smith said it’s believed that the blaze was ignited by an electrical problem in one of the storage buildings.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames from reaching the house.
