Burkeville Fire Chief Charles Duckworth says a mobile home was destroyed by fire early Sunday evening. It happened at about 7:00 on County Road 1083.
Duckworth said firefighters arrived to find the house fully engulfed with half of the structure already collapsed.
Duckworth said it was a rent house, but the renters were not there and at last word he was trying to get in touch with them.
Meanwhile, the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
