A burned out jumper on a Houston Street power line here in Jasper is thought have caused electrical problems which produced the smell of smoke inside a doctor's office on Thursday afternoon.
The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to Complete Healthcare Services at 315 West Houston Street shortly after 2:00 when workers there reported the smell of smoke and evacuated the building.
The firemen, along with workers from the City of Jasper's Electrical Department, soon had the problem corrected without any damage or injury.
Workers from the medical office were evacuated to the rear of building until firemen determined that the building was safe and gave the all-clear signal to return.
