An elderly man died in a Beaumont house fire late Wednesday night. The Beaumont Fire Department responded to the blaze shortly before midnight in the 2400 block of Amarillo Street in the city’s south end. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from the interior of the house. They were able to very quickly douse the fire, and they then discovered the body of the 93-year-old man. The name of the man has not yet been released, and there’s no word yet on how the fire may have started.
