HALLSVILLE, Texas — One person suffered minor burns and five people lost their home in an East Texas apartment fire Saturday morning.
According to the Hallsville Fire Department, firefighters responded to a reported apartment fire
at 302 S. Green Street Apartment 20 in Hallsville. Crews found heavy fire and smoke showing from a second-floor apartment. They were able to knock down the fire and prevent it from spreading to other apartments.
One person suffered burns to their hands, but they're expected to make a full recovery. None of the firefighters were injured, the fire department said.
The American Red Cross is helping the five people who were displaced because of the fire. The cause of the blaze was determined to be accidental.
The fire damage was contained the apartment where the fire started, but another apartment did have minor smoke damage.
