The DeRidder Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in a Friday, September 20th shooting of a juvenile. According to Police, the suspect, 18-year-old Anthony Ray Goldman, of Cleveland, was for some unknown reason at the DeRidder High School Band practice when he fired several shots from a .22 caliber handgun. Police said after the victim was shot, he started fighting Goldman. Meanwhile, Goldman fled, and the victim was taken to Beauregard Health System for treatment of his gunshot wound. Police say they found the gun used in the shooting, but the serial number had been destroyed. They were later able to identify Goldman as their suspect and he was arrested late Tuesday afternoon. Goldman has been charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Numbers or Marks, and Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone. Goldman remains in the Beauregard Parish Jail with bond denied.
