MANSFIELD, La. — A Dallas man lost his life Monday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in DeSoto Parish.
Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to the incident around 4 p.m. on state Highway 177 near state Highway 510.
The victim has been identified as John Hordge, 46.
According to preliminary investigations, Hordge was traveling south on Highway 177 in a 2014 Ford F-150 when his vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons. The truck struck a guardrail before plunging into a nearby creek and overturning.
State troopers confirmed that Hordge was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
