BONHAM, Texas (KXII) — Three brothers died Monday after falling through ice on a private pond north of Bonham, according to multiple local and state agencies.
Two of the boys, ages 8 and 9, were pulled from the water by a neighbor and first arriving responders to the scene off Recreational Road Three. Medical care was immediately administered before the children were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
The 6-year-old did not resurface but was later recovered after an extensive search of the pond. All three children have been pronounced deceased.
The victims were brothers Howard, 6, Kaleb, 8, and EJ, 9, according to relatives who spoke with FOX 4 News. The Bonham Fire Department confirmed the deaths were the result of the boys falling into the icy pond during the winter storm.
