The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that criminal charges have increased against a man accused of driving drunk and hitting two motorcycles head-on. The Friday, February 2nd crash in Hardin County left three residents of Tyler County dead, and another injured. It happened on Farm to Market Road 327 between Silsbee and Kountze. Killed in the crash were James Means, 39, and his daughter, Cici Means, 12, both of Spurger, and Allen Wesenberg, 37, of Warren. The sole survivor was Wesenberg’s son, 7-year-old Aiden Wesenberg, who suffered a broken leg. Arrested was 50-year-old Brenon Proulx, a native of Jasper who now lives in Silsbee. DPS says Proulx’s charges have been increased from two counts of Intoxication Assault to three counts of Intoxication Manslaughter.
