Burn bans have been lifted in Newton and Jefferson Counties, but they remain in effect in Jasper, Sabine, San Augustine, Angelina, Tyler, Hardin, and Orange Counties. The following is the Keetch-Byrum Drought Index averages for our local counties, with 800 being the maximum level of wildfire danger:
