The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department says an Evadale homeowner held a burglar at gunpoint until a deputy arrived. It happened shortly after 2:00 Monday morning at a house on Farm to Market Road 2246. According to the report, the homeowner awakened to find 65-year-old transient Anthony Andre Threatt burglarizing his vehicle and he had stolen multiple items, including a handgun. The report said Threatt told the deputy that he stole the items in order to buy crack. Threatt was taken to the Jasper County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Vehicle and Theft of a Firearm.
