Jasper County deputies arrested a man after they caught him in the act of trying to commit a burglary in Buna. It happened at about 5:30 Monday morning at Tractor Supply on Highway 96.
According to the report, deputies responded to a burglar alarm at the business and arrived to find 37-year-old Kyle resident Brett Joseph Atkins trying to hide from them.
Atkins was also arrested earlier this month for a theft from the Kirbyville Barn Feed Store and was out of jail on bond.
Now Atkins has been charged with Criminal Mischief.
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said “I’m glad this man has been arrested again. Apparently, he has nothing better to do than steal other people’s property.”
