The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a crash that killed a motorcycle driver in Jefferson County.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a motorcycle driver was traveling north on Kiker Drive, while a Chevrolet pickup was traveling west on State Highway 124.
It is reported the driver of the motorcycle lost control, struck a stop sign and came to rest in the eastbound lane of State Highway 124. The driver of the Chevrolet took evasive action but was unable to avoid the motorcycle and struck it with its left side.
The motorcycle rider died at the scene. Troopers aren't releasing the victim's name until they notify relatives.
