Both the Pineland and Lake Rayburn Fire Departments were busy early Tuesday morning dealing with a house fire. It happened shortly after 6:00 on Old Highway 8 behind the Brookeland Schools. Firefighters arrived to find the one-story brick structure fully engulfed and they went to work on dousing the flames. The fire department was called back out to the scene shortly after 9:00 when the fire rekindled and they tapped out the blaze. There’s no word on what may have caused the fire.
