Groves Police are investigating after a body was found in the back seat of a pickup truck on Thursday morning. The truck was on the parking lot between Big Lots and Popeyes Chicken on Twin City Highway. Police say there’s no sign of foul play, and the body was in a state of decomposition. Meanwhile, the manager of the property told investigators that the truck had been there about three weeks. The property manager said that she was going to have the truck towed away on Thursday morning, and when she looked in through the window she saw the body. Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett has ordered an autopsy. Meanwhile, the name of the person has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin, although he is said to be in his early 40's. Additionally, it was said that he's not from the area, and is believed to have been here working on one of the refinery expansion projects.
