Beaumont Police believe a man was shot and killed before wreck in South Park

Beaumont police are investigating what that believe it a murder after a man's body was found in a wrecked car.

It all began shortly before 9:00 on Friday evening when it was reported that a car had wrecked out in the 500 block of Woodrow Street, just off of Highland Drive in the South Park area of the city.

Officers said they arrived to find to find the driver of the vehicle dead at the wheel and soon determined that he had been shot.

Jefferson County Justice of the Peace Ransom ‘Duce’ Jones did not release the name of the man who was killed but sad he was in his upper 20s.

Jones had ordered an autopsy as officers with the Beaumont Police Department continue to investigate the incident. However, late Saturday police identified  Charles Siggers as the possible trigger man and went to a judge who issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police have obtained a murder warrant for 18-year-old Charles Siggers in connection with the shooting which was the second case of murder this year in Beaumont.
