LEESVILLE, La. (KPLC) - Service has been restored after some Vernon residents were unable to connect to 911 services via LTE and 5G devices on AT&T’s network earlier today, according to Vernon Parish Fire District 1. During a 911 outage, residents are advised to call the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office directly at 337-238-1311 for emergencies. An AT&T spokesperson provided the following statement Friday afternoon:

“Mobile access to 9-1-1 is operating normally. Some of our wireless and landline customers in the southeast region of Louisiana and surrounding areas may be experiencing service disruptions, primarily due to power outages from recent severe weather. Our technicians continue to work as quickly and safely as possible until all service is restored.”
