Officials in both Tyler and Hardin Counties are urging people who live along the Neches River to evacuate due to the level of the river rising. Tyler County Emergency Management says that people who live in the Rockland Community, Fox Landing, Mt. Neches, Barlow Lake Estates, and Sheffield's Ferry should leave. An evacuation shelter has been established at the Colmesneil High School Gym, and anyone needing assistance with leaving can call the Tyler County Sheriff’s Department at 409-283-2172. Meanwhile, Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel say people should watch the water level and consider evacuating if they live along the Neches River, Village Creek, Pine Island Bayou, and all tributaries that drain into those waterways.
